Working Principle of Multi-stage Pump

The main content of multi-stage pump selection is to determine the appropriate pump type, model, and number of pumps according to the required head H, flow Q and the change law of the project. The basis for the selection is the design parameters determined in the project planning and design. The selection of the multi-stage pump is related to the supporting power machine, transmission and auxiliary equipment, and pump-related buildings.

The basic principle of multi-stage pump:

1. Must meet the requirements of head H and flow Q (or pressure) in the production process according to the needs of production.

2. Choose a pump type with good performance and strong adaptability and assurance to the changes in head H and flow Q required by the project.

3. When the series of products cannot meet the selection requirements, new products can be designed and trial-produced according to the prescribed procedures.

4. When the project requires a large head change, the H-Q curve steep drop type pump should be used; when the project requires a large flow change, the H-Q curve flat pump should be selected.

5. In the long-term operation of the selected style, the average device efficiency is higher, the energy consumption is low, and the operating cost is lower.

6. First of all, the pumps with high efficiency, good suction performance and wide range of use should be selected from the series of products that have been finalized. When there are a variety of pump types to choose from, a technical and economic analysis should be carried out and the choice should be made.
